Marie-Louis Taylor

Pianist, Marie-Louise Taylor has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in concert halls nationwide including prestigious venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, Royal Holloway College, Reading Arts Centre, The Adrian Boult Hall, CBSO centre, the Royal Welsh College of Music, Whitely Hall, the Gateway Arts Centre and is a returning artist to many concert clubs and festivals including a summer festival in Fresselines, France.
She particularly loves French music and has played Ravel’s Jeux d’eau for Radio 3’s In tune programme.
She has studied piano with her father, pedagogue Harold Taylor, a pupil of the renowned French pianist Alfred Cortot, who in turn studied himself with a pupil of Chopin.
Graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and the Kodaly Institute ,Hungary, Marie-Louise has worked as an accompanist and vocal coach and taught the piano for many colleges and Universities including the Welsh College of Music and Drama, the Birmingham Conservatoire, the RNCM junior school, Chetham’s School of Music and the University of Manchester and Birmingham.
She examines and adjudicates and is a regular visitor on the panel of the Dudley International Piano Competition.
Marie-Louise currently teaches on the post graduate course at the University of Manchester.
