Derek Jarman – filmmaker, painter, gardener, activist, and writer, remains as influential today as when he died in 1994.
Yet his extraordinary life has never been fully told… until now.
Mark Farrelly’s vibrant solo play brings Jarman back to life in a daring, passionate journey from Dungeness to Soho, celebrating the courage it takes to truly live.
Jarman’s legacy spans taboobreaking films (Sebastiane, Jubilee, Caravaggio), iconic Pet Shop Boys videos, the famous Dungeness garden, his final paintings, and Blue….a single frame of colour capturing the loss of sight but not of artistic vision.
We welcome Mark back to the theatre. Previous shows Quentin Crisp – Naked Hope, and Howerd’s End have been very well received.
