A family is making a tense, hot uncomfortable road trip in a borrowed car through remote northwest Iran. The reason for the trip is not made explicit but during the journey they bond over memories of the past, grapple with fears of the unknown and fuss over a sick dog.

There is danger and stress lurking everywhere for the family as they head for the border, but the mood of the film remains light with superb performances from the whole cast, in particular the energetic 8-year-old son.
