In this remake of the 1989 classic “The War of the Roses”, life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy (Olivia Coleman) and Theo (Benedict Cumberbatch) having successful careers, a loving marriage and great kids.

However, beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life a storm is brewing as Theo’s career nosedives and Ivy’s own ambitions take off. Their relationship becomes a tinder box of fierce competition as hidden resentments begin to ignite in quite spectacular ways.

The Roses is a very funny dark comedy, and Coleman and Cumberbatch are exceptional, as one would expect.
