Becoming Mrs Danvers
Written & Performed By: EMUL8 Theatre – Heather Alexander
Friday 6th February 2026: 7:30pm
Inspired by the character of Mrs Danvers from Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca comes a wholly imagined creative and original story.
A child is found locked in a trunk and sent to an orphanage asylum. Driven by shadowy memories, the young woman battles against outrageous injustice and learns to twist the knife of fate. Karma is a dish best served cold and this woman is glacial.
Award-winning performer / writer Heather Alexander takes us on a rollercoaster journey of emotions with a very unexpected ending.
Reviews
‘From the moment the audience step into the venue, Heather Alexander commandeers the stage when necessary, and lets it swallow her up during softer, vulnerable moments. From portraying a young, scared child, to a wild, ambitious woman, the audience was enraptured by Alexander’s every word’.
– A Youngish Perspective
‘Starting with a child discovered locked in a trunk in 1919, this one-woman show tells a hard-hitting story of triumph over adversity’
